CarMax names EVP and other staff moves

Charles Joseph Wilson named EVP and COO at Carmax Used-car retailer CarMax announced last month that Charles Joseph Wilson is assuming the roles of executive vice president and chief operating officer after more than 25 years with company. [caption id="attachment_57333064" align="alignright" width="200"] Charles Joseph Wilson, EVP and COO, CarMax [/caption] Wilson joined CarMax in 1995 as a buyer-in-training at the retailer’s store in Raleigh, N.C., where he was later promoted to senior buyer, according to the company’s 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and E xchange Commission . Starting in 1998, Wilson served as purchasing manager at two CarMax stores in southern Florida before being promoted to regional vice president of merchandising in 2004. Wilson’s move to EVP and COO marks his fifth promotion within the company since 2008. He previously served as senior vice president of store strategy and logistics before assuming his new position in November. Melanie Wilson named first woman CEO of NIADA The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA) announced Monday that Melanie Wilson has been selected to serve as interim chief executive after the retirement of current CEO Bob Voltmann . [caption id="attachment_57333067" align="alignright" width="179"] Melanie Wilson, CEO, NIADA [/caption] Wilson was selected as interim CEO unanimously by the NIADA Board of Directors, making her the first woman to lead the association in its 75-year history, according to a release. She served as NIADA’s chief financial officer for six years prior to the appointment. Wilson previously held chief financial officer roles at Young Women’s Christian Association of Fort Worth and Tarrant Country, Texas, and at the Center for Transforming Lives . She is the owner of 618 Consulting, which provides accounting and services consulting to small business and nonprofits, according to LinkedIn. Voltmann is retiring as CEO after leading the NIADA for two years, according to the release. Graham-Poonce steps up at NextGear Capital Nicole Graham-Ponce was named vice president of portfolio management at floorplan financier NextGear Capital at the start of December. At Manheim, she led operational sales teams in organizational development, operational activities and implemented efficiency improvements, according to a company release. As vice president of portfolio management, Graham-Ponce will set the strategic vision for how the portfolio management team supports clients in growing their business, according to the release . “Her understanding of independent dealers and their needs, along with her experience leading large teams and the partnership success she's achieved, will be invaluable assets to our team,” Scott Maybee , president of NextGear Capital, said of Graham-Ponce. Naylor to succeed Keane as Synchrony chair Synchrony announced last week that Board Chair Margaret Keane , plans to retire in April 2023. She will be succeeded by Jeffrey Naylor, a current board member. Prior to serving the board position, she served as chief executive at the lender from 2015 to 2021. Naylor has served on Synchrony ’s board since 2014, and as the lender’s lead independent director since April 2021. Naylor, who also serves on the boards of Dollar Tree and Wayfair , is the former chief financial officer at TJX Companies and served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Big Lots , according to the release. "During his tenure on our Board, Jeff has been active in engaging our people and teams and willing to lend his counsel, insights and advice,” Synchrony CEO Brian Doubles said in the release. “He has been a key partner and advisor as we continue to manage the company for the long-term." Iniguez moves to interim CEO role at Hyrecar Car rental service company HyreCar named Eduardo Iniguez as interim chief executive last week, marking his second promotion since October. Iniguez was promoted to interim chief financial officer at HyreCar after serving as the company’s head of finance, effective Oct. 1. His promotion to interim CEO will allow him to focus on managing the company’s joint venture with AmeriDrive , according to a company release. Iniguez joined HyreCar from aerospace and defense company AllClear , where he served as vice president of corporate finance. He brings 14 years of experience in operational finance, treasury, capital management and public accounting to his new role as interim CEO. First Business Bank promotes Brink First Business Bank named Spencer Brink floorplan financing portfolio manager after six years with the bank. Brink joined the financier in 2016 as a credit analyst intern and worked his way up to the role of lead credit analyst of the floorplan financing team in 2020, the year First Business Bank first rolled out the offering. In his new position, Brink will work on loan requests, portfolio monitoring and risk management, according to a company release.
