Kawasaki Motor Finance Corp. (KMFC) has signed on to use CALMS Compass, a floorplan finance software, to enhance the user experience for its dealers, the company announced. The software will go live for Kawasaki dealers later this year. KMFC provides floorplan financing for Kawasaki dealerships.
Created by White Clarke Group, CALMS Compass is a software that manages the floorplan business processes from initial credit review to full loan and portfolio servicing. The software can handle a wide range of “nuances” of various vehicle assets, such as automobile, powersports and construction equipment, Jay Edwards, senior vice president of business development for White Clarke Group, told Powersports Finance.
For example, since the powersports industry is impacted by seasonality, dealers using CALMS can arrange to have periods of no interest or no curtailments on snowmobiles during the summer months. The tool also has a data mechanic that allows dealers to track and analyze inventory performance.
KMFC decided to implement CALMS in order to improve the dealer portal experience and provide new features that were previously unavailable.
“The dealer experience is going to be way better, far improved from what the Kawasaki dealer has available to them today from a dealer portal perspective,” Edwards said. “The system comes with a lot of out-of-the-box integrations that support the businesses in the marketplace. So, like an auction interface in which National Powersport Auctions is preconfigured out of the gate.”
Lenders such as Yamaha Financial Services and Northpoint Commercial Finance also use CALMS.
