Multiple Speakers Set to Engage in Performance and Compliance Summit

Auto Finance News is proud to welcome a full slate of diverse speakers to this year’s Auto Finance Performance & Compliance Summit to be held May 9-10 at the Omni Dallas.

The speaker faculty has been finalized with two industry veterans opening the first day of the conference for fireside chats about risk and compliance.

Marcelo Brutti, chief risk officer at Hyundai Capital America, will kick things off with a discussion about the greatest uncertainties the auto finance industry faces. Veronica Roman, chief compliance officer at Toyota Financial Services, will be waiting in the wings for a fireside chat about how the captive is adapting to the new regulatory environment with a new director at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

As leadership among federal regulators is in flux, many have turned their attention to the states. This year’s conference reflects that shift as we welcome two Texas state regulators to give their perspective on the latest trends. Rudy Aguilar, director of consumer protection in the Office of the Consumer Credit Commissioner, and Brad Carpenter, assistant district attorney at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, will discuss their enforcement priorities in the auto space. They’ll be joined by Lucy Morris, a partner at Hudson Cook LLP, to provide her broader perspective and research on state regulation.

Day two provides an eclectic slate of topics from the Federal Trade Commission providing an update on regulatory priorities to Toyota Financial Services’ Kim Cerda, vice president of human relations and operational excellence, delivering a presentation on hiring for the future.

Executives from Rifco Auto Finance, Regions Dealer Financial Services, SunTrust Dealer Financial Services, and U.S. Bank will join a panel on dealer relationships that explores the delicate balance lenders face between the dealer’s wants and compliance needs.

To discuss servicing and collections, respectively, Security National Automotive Acceptance Corp.’s Chris Mitcham and Veros Credit LLC’s Rob Tennant will deliver presentations on the latest trends and best practices in the space.

Synthetic identity fraud will account for $1 billion in auto originations this year PointPredictive forecasts. Santander Consumer USA’s Senior Vice President of Enterprise Fraud & Dealer Management Zahid Kassem will share his best practices for sniffing out that fraud before and after origination.

Arrive early to engage in workshop discussions led by executives from Consumer Portfolio Services, Hyundai Capital America, and Global Lending Services. Workshop topics will cover crafting a compliance program, to dealing with regulatory exams.
