Dealer fraud is still a real and present danger, according to Pelican Auto Finance LLC Chief Executive Troy Cavallaro.
“Fraud is on the rise,” Cavallaro told AFN. “We could blame it on technology because the reality is, it’s just easier to do [now] than it was 15 years ago.”
Cavallaro will be talking about how best to combat the dangers of dealer fraud during an Oct. 22 presentation titled Managing Dealer Risk at the upcoming Auto Finance Summit 2015. During the presentation, Cavallaro will identify the common types of fraud, discuss the impact on the lender, and present real life examples to illuminate how best to implement change.
“It’s sort of a taboo subject that people don’t really like to talk about,” he said. “But it’s very, very real.” The Auto Finance Summit and PowerSports Finance 2015 will take place Oct. 21-23 at Wynn Las Vegas. For more information, visit www.autofinancesummit.com.
