Polaris has hired Victor Koelsch in the newly created role of chief digital officer, effective immediately, the company announced today.
In the role, Koelsch will oversee digital strategy for Polaris and be responsible for accelerating the company’s development and integration of digital technologies into its products, services and experiences, as well as leading the creation of new business solutions and digital offerings. Koelsch will report to Polaris Chief Executive Scott Wine and Chief Financial Officer Mike Speetzen.
Koelsch “has made a career of developing and implementing market-leading technology solutions, and we are excited for him to leverage that acumen to augment our existing initiatives and spearhead Polaris’ digital future,” Wine said in a press release. “We continuously evolve how consumers experience our brands, and Vic’s leadership will significantly enhance and accelerate that process.”
Koelsch has more than 30 years of experience in the digital and technology field. He most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for the transportation and industrial markets.
Prior to his role at Exide, Koelsch held multiple positions with the Michelin Groupe, including leading two of its largest business units, where he deployed numerous digitally enabled service offerings and business models.
Koelsch also served as Michelin’s first chief digital officer, leading the company’s digital strategy, including the development of digital services and assets, and directly managing the company’s stand-alone digital businesses.
