Stable consumer confidence kept U.S. auto sales on track through the first half of 2026, but auto economists are weighing several factors that could affect that pace.  U.S. vehicle sales are running in line with Fitch Ratings’ estimates for total U.S. sales to end 2026 at 15.8 million units, Senior Director Stephen Brown told Auto Finance News.
