Flagship Credit Acceptance donated more than 5,300 pounds of food to Feeding America in November and continues its philanthropic efforts through its volunteer time off (VTO) program.
A companywide virtual food drive at its headquarters in Chadds Ford, Pa., and offices in Tempe, Ariz., and Coppell, Texas, donated food and money to local branches of the food bank.
“Years ago, food drives meant collecting nonperishable food items, but when we went virtual (amid the pandemic) it allowed us to expand that to more of the population,” Jeff Haymore, president and chief operating officer at Flagship, told Auto Finance News. “We still take physical food, or we’ll take dollar donations as a food equivalent.”
Tempe, Ariz., associates contributed the most food at 2,162 pounds to St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, Ariz. The Coppell, Texas, team, donated 1,625 pounds to the North Texas Food Bank, and the Flagship headquarters office donated 1,556 pounds to the Food Bank of Delaware, bringing the grand total of donations to 5,343 pounds.
In recognition of its teams’ charitable efforts, Flagship provided additional financial support to each of the three Feeding America branches, Haymore said. St. Mary’s Food Bank received $5,000, North Texas Food Bank received $3,000 and the Food Bank of Delaware received $1,000.

Through its donations during the past four years, Flagship has contributed 615,000 meals to Feeding America, Haymore said. “It’s pretty significant when we think about the local communities,” he added.
Flagship has $3 billion in managed receivables on its portfolio, according to a company release, and participates in companywide philanthropy throughout the year, encouraging individual volunteerism all year long through the VTO program, Haymore noted.
Through Flagship’s VTO program, employees receive paid time off to volunteer at: Feeding America, Habitat for Humanity, The Garage, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, local food banks, and other charities, Haymore said.
