Acknowledging a scale-back in originations last quarter, TD Bank’s Tim Hockey told analysts yesterday in an earnings call that the bank’s U.S. auto loan volume was heading a bit more to the prime and super-prime end of the market. Nonetheless, he said that TD was still building out the capabilities to feel comfortable with the risk profile of “near-prime” lending at some point. “But we’re not there yet,” Hockey said.
