CapOne’s Goin is New-Old CIO at SCUSA

DON_GOIN2Don Goin, a veteran auto finance chief information officer, is returning to Dallas-based Santander Consumer USA as CIO, effective next month, from Capital One.

At Capital One, Goin, 45, was Digital Operations Officer. He led digital transformation, digital operations, enterprise architecture, the innovation center and technology shared services for Capital One Financial Services, Plano, Texas. Before that, he was CIO, Auto Finance for Capital One.

At Santander Consumer USA, Goin succeeds James W. Fugitt, who followed Goin at SCUSA. Before he was CIO, Fugitt was Chief Technology Officer for SCUSA.

As noted, this is Goin’s second stint with Santander Consumer USA. He was CIO at SCUSA from May 2006 to September 2011, when he left to join Capital One, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Before that, he was CIO for Drive Financial Services.

Laurie Kight, a SCUSA spokeswoman, confirmed today Goin is moving into the CIO job in August. She said Fugitt will serve as CTO.
