Andrew Stuart will leave his post as chief executive of VW Credit Inc. to become president and CEO of TD Auto Finance U.S.

Stuart will assume the new post mid-month, and will be replaced, for the short term, by VW Credit CFO Christian Dahlheim, according to a published report.

Stuart will join TD after more than 20 years at VW, where he started as district manager in the Atlantic Provinces for Volkswagen Group Canada and held various positions in sales, marketing, product planning, and financial services, according to his VW profile. Stuart also served as CEO of Bentley Motors Inc. from 2004 to 2007, before briefly leaving to serve as COO of Ron Tonkin Dealerships. He rejoined VW Credit as executive vice president and CFO.

TD Auto Finance ranked 16th in originations and outstandings in the 2014 Auto Finance Big Wheels Data Report, while VW Credit ranked 13th in originations and 14th in outstandings.

At TD, Stuart will report to Paul Clark, president and CEO of TD Auto Finance.
