America’s Car-Mart receives shortest extension yet on $892M debt deadline

Filing marks ninth extension for America’s Car-Mart

Buy here, pay here retailer America’s Car-Mart received another extension on its deadline to pay back $892.2 million in debt, providing relief through Nov. 4.

The Rogers, Ark.-based retailer received a three-day extension, according to a Nov. 2 SEC filing.

America’s Car-Mart has received nine extensions since it began seeking rescue financing in June. The Nov. 2 extension is the shortest America’s Car-Mart has received, with most prior extensions spanning seven days.

The retailer’s debt is made up of a $300 million term loan with Silver Point Finance and more than $600 million in asset-backed securitization deals. America’s Car-Mart previously received a $5 million term loan from Silver Point and other lenders, according to an Oct. 21 SEC filing.

Representatives from America’s Car-Mart did not respond to Auto Finance News‘ requests for comment by publication time today.

America’s Car-Mart was the 107th-largest auto lender by yearend 2025, with a portfolio totaling $1.5 billion, up 2% year over year, according to the latest Big Wheels ranking data.
