Polaris, Yamaha boost current year promos as 2019 closes

Matthew Wood

Current-model year promotions have seen an uptick from OEMs in December, though most incentives are focused on prior-year models, according to a report BMO Capital Markets provided Powersports Finance.

Polaris is offering 0% financing and either a two year-warranty or a $250 rebate on current-model snowmobiles. The company offered a 3.99% APR at this time last year.

Additionally, Polaris is focused on current-year Slingshot models. The vehicles are available with a $2,500 rebate or 3.99% APR, compared with last year’s offer of 3.99% financing for 36 months or 5.99% financing for 60 months.

Meanwhile, Yamaha has upped its rebate promotions on current-model year side-by-sides. Sport and recreational side-by-sides are available with a $1,000 rebate. Sport UTVs had no rebate offer last December, while recreational side-by-sides had a $750 rebate.

Kawasaki’s “Tis the Season” sales event began in December, with incentives that are more promotional on current model year side-by-sides and most of its prior model year lineup. “We continue to think that higher side-by-sides offers likely stem from a desire to clear the channel ahead of the shipping and initial spring selling season of its new Teryx KRX 1000 sport side-by-side,” Analyst Gerrick Johnson wrote in the report.

Current model year Mule side-by-sides have a $1,000 rebate, while Teryx side-by-sides have a $1,250 rebate. By comparison, Teryx models sported a $500 rebate last year.
