Nissan names senior director of EV strategy, and other staff moves…

Nissan names Jung senior director of EV strategy and transformation Nissan has appointed Trisha Jung as senior director of EV strategy and transformation to lead a group established last year that is responsible for meeting the manufacturer’s electrification objectives, according to a company release. [caption id="attachment_58330668" align="alignright" width="162"] Trisha Jung [/caption] Nissan has a target to make 40% of its U.S. sales electric by 2030 and to “achieve carbon neutrality across its operations by 2050,” according to the company. Jung is no stranger to EVs, having overseen the launch of the Nissan Leaf. Jung joined Nissan in 2002 including serving for the past seven years in leadership roles with Infinity. She most recently directed Infinity USA’s model line, pricing and incentives. Szlosek joins AutoNation as new EVP and CFO Automotive retailer AutoNation announced in May it has named Thomas Szlosek as the company’s new executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective about Aug. 7. [caption id="attachment_58330669" align="alignleft" width="162"] Thomas Szlosek [/caption] Szlosek will oversee accounting, treasury, tax, audit and investor relations among other responsibilities, according to a company release. He currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of health care product provider Avantor . Prior to Avantor, he was senior vice president and CFO at technology manufacturer Honeywell . Joe Lower , the current CFO of AutoNation, will continue to serve in the role in the meantime. When Szlosek joins the company, Lower will transition into a newly created role overseeing business transformation initiatives, according to the release. Szews is new non-exec board chair at Group 1 Automotive retailer Group 1 Automotive hired Charles Szews as the company's non-executive chairman of its board of directors. [caption id="attachment_58330670" align="alignright" width="186"] Charles Szews [/caption] Szews, who has served as the director of Group 1 since 2016, sits on the audit committee and chairs the finance and risk management committee, according to a company release. He was chief executive of specialty vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Corp. from 2011 to 2016. He also served as CFO, EVP and COO in his 20 years with the company. Szews succeeds Stephen Quinn , who served for six years. Szews is taking over for Quinn because of the company’s governance to rotate the non-executive chairman. Getaround brings leadership from HyreCar Carsharing marketplace Getaround named Eduardo Iniguez senior vice president of finance and strategy and AJ Lee vice president of gig marketplace following the company’s acquisition of carsharing marketplace HyreCar . [caption id="attachment_58330673" align="alignleft" width="197"] AJ Lee [/caption] Iniguez served as CEO and CFO at HyreCar prior to the acquisition. He will be responsible for Getaround’s financial operations and risk management, focusing on cost optimization and financial transformation, according to a company release. Iniguez brings 14 years of experience in operational finance, public accounting and budgeting. Lee will oversee the growth and integration of Getaround’s gig business, according to the release. He previously worked as HyreCar’s COO and senior vice president of growth. Getaround is also welcoming additional members of HyreCar’s team to its staff, Getaround Chief Executive Sam Zaid said. PureCars appoints Sheeks new CEO [caption id="attachment_58330671" align="alignright" width="168"] Aaron Sheeks [/caption] Auto dealership marketing platform PureCars announced President Aaron Sheeks is taking over as chief executive officer and will be responsible for driving PureCars’ growth and product strategy and advancing its customer data platform. He joined PureCars in January as president following the company’s acquisition of automotive marketing platform AutoMiner. Sheeks co-founded AutoMiner in 2020 and served as CEO until the acquisition. He previously was senior regional director at automotive marketing company ZeroSum and senior sales director at marketing solutions provider Advance 360 . Sheeks succeeds Stephane Ferri , who will transition to a continued role on the board. Inovatec names Hardner chief product officer Automotive lending veteran Paul Harder has been named Inovatec Systems ’ chief product officer, joining the newly appointed Veljko Velickovic , head of solution delivery, in overseeing the fintech’s product development and customer delivery operations. [caption id="attachment_58330672" align="alignleft" width="136"] Paul Harder [/caption] Harder has decades of experience in finance and product innovation, having most recently served as vice president of auto finance and unsecured lending at CIBC , according to an Inovatec release. Harder also worked at RBC Auto Finance and worked for the Canadian government in international relations and defense. Harder will lead the development of Inovatec’s integrated LOS and LMS platforms and its customer-facing portal.
