Corthell and other panelists will participate in a session titled “Overcoming the uncertainty of fluid regulatory compliance” at 3:45 p.m. local time on Oct. 6.
He will be joined by:
- Robert Engilman, senior vice president and chief compliance officer at Westlake Financial; and
- Travis Moore, general counsel for the Service Contract Industry Council, Motor Vehicle Protection Products Association and the GAP Alliance.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Key state-level regulatory developments hampering auto lending, servicing and collections;
- Strategies for maintaining compliance across multiple jurisdictions while supporting business growth; and
- Using technology, data, and internal controls to strengthen compliance monitoring and reporting
Corthell has more than 11 years of experience at BMW Financial Services and previously served as legal counsel to Fifth Third Bank.
BMW Financial Services was the 12th-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2025 with a portfolio of $43.1 billion, according to the latest Big Wheels ranking data.
