Drive Motors, an online sales platform for dealers, announced today the appointment of Chris Gugliotta as its head of strategic partnerships.

Gugliotta brings 20 years’ experience in technology, automotive, and retail sales. He was formerly the head of innovation and online sales at Lithia Motors, a dealership headquartered in Medford, Oregon. In his new role, Gugliotta is tasked with forging new partnerships with lenders and third-party vendors such as auto finance fintechs.

Drive Motors provides car dealers with an e-commerce platform that allows buyers to purchase cars, secure loans and acquire insurance coverage. Dealers can integrate the platform in a few hours and begin processing sales through an online channel.

“The innovation that Drive Motors offers is bringing the Amazon-like checkout experience to a dealer and a consumer,” Gugliotta told Auto Finance News. “Its advanced technology that’s really easy to set up.”

Gugliotta sees opportunities for the company providing dealers with finance and insurance services.

The types of products consumers buy to protect their vehicle is something they don’t think about until the very end of buying a car, he said. “We want to bring that to them earlier in their buying process. For a car dealer, F&I is a lot of revenue.”

Providing data analytics is another tactic that company hopes will drives sales for dealers on the platform.

“We want to connect the lenders, F&I products, and the dealers and their inventory and start consulting the dealers on best practices around what we’re seeing and how to make more money by small tweaks in their processes based on data.”
