ThunderRoad’s Hummer to Speak in Fireside Chat at PowerSports Finance 2017

Natalie Mattila

Donal Hummer Jr., founder and chief executive for ThunderRoad Financial, will sit down for a fireside chat at PowerSports Finance 2017, Oct. 24-25, at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Hummer has more than 24 years’ experience in banking and finance. In 1992, Hummer began his powersports finance journey, and relocated to Reno, Nev., from Michigan, to help charter the first powersports-specific finance company, Harley-Davidson Financial Services. He served 14 years at the captive, overseeing credit operations and information systems and serving as general counsel for the company.

Following his tenure at HDFS, Hummer was hired to set up FreedomRoad Financial, the powersports finance division of Evergreen Community Bank. In 2014, Hummer founded ThunderRoad Financial, and put together a group of like-minded investors and dedicated employees.

Reno, Nev.-based ThunderRoad Financial is a full-spectrum lender with a dealer base of more than 300 across 30 states. In April 2016, ThunderRoad became the second powersports lender in the industry to issue a securitization backed by prime and subprime motorcycle retail installment loans.

Hummer received his Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Michigan in 1979 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1982.

Hummer’s Fireside chat will be preceded by a presentation on the state of powersports finance. Other sessions include: Finding Loan Growth Amid Increasing Competition, F&I Dos and Don’ts, Credit Trends in Powersports Finance, and Regulatory Compliance Update.

The full agenda can be viewed here.

PowerSports Finance 2017 will take place Oct. 24-25 at the Wynn Las Vegas. To learn more — or to register — for this year’s event, visit the PowerSports Finance 2017 homepage here.
