Tom Wirth joins Huntington Bank to lead a team of 40 as the company’s auto finance product and strategy director, the bank announced today.
Prior to joining Huntington, Wirth spent more than 16 years at U.S. Bank, most recently as the bank’s indirect line of business manager and national retail executive, according to the company press release. He also served as vice chairman of the Consumer Bankers Association Auto Finance Committee. Overall, Wirth brings 25 years of experience in auto finance industry.
“My focus will be on the overall enhancement of the strategies and products, refining them and aligning them to make sure they are ultimately aligned throughout our organization,” Wirth told Auto Finance News. “The strategy aspect, in the current regulatory environment, includes a regulatory discussion, but also a tech discussion and a customer service discussion.”
Auto finance has always been a core business for Huntington Bank, Rich Porrello, auto finance director, told AFN. “And hiring the right people has been our key strategy,” he said.
The indirect auto lender provides new and used vehicle lending and vehicle inventory financing to 3,800 dealerships in 20 states across the Midwest and New England.
