USAA names Brian Goldman chief risk officer

USAA on May 14 named Brian Goldman as the lender’s new chief risk officer, effective May 27.

USAA’s portfolio was $17.9 billion at yearend 2024, making it the 20th-largest auto lender by outstandings, according to the latest Big Wheels Rankings data . The lender’s originations totaled $9.6 billion at yearend 2024, down 1% year over year.

Vroom’s Sandison tapped as CFO [caption id="attachment_58351902" align="alignleft" width="145"] Jon Sandison[/caption] Vroom named Jon Sandison chief financial officer, he announced on LinkedIn on May 16. Sandison has been with the company for three years and previously was vice president of investor relations and financial planning.

He has held leadership roles in the finance industry since 2009, including at Stoneridge , Yazaki North America and J.P. Morgan Chase .

Vroom subsidiary United Auto Credit Corp. ’s originations rose 16.2% YoY to $151 million in the first quarter, according to the company’s May 14 earnings presentation. UACC’s serviced portfolio ticked up 0.5% YoY to $1 billion.

GM names Aldred new president of North America segment [caption id="attachment_58351900" align="alignleft" width="300"] Duncan Aldred[/caption] General Motors named Duncan Aldred its senior vice president and president of its North America business segment on May 5. Aldred reports to Rory Harvey , General Motors executive vice president and president of global markets, according to a company release.

Aldred has been with the company for 33 years and held multiple leadership roles across sales, services and marketing. He most recently served as vice president of commercial growth strategies and operations.

GM Financial’s originations rose 15.1% year over year to $14.5 billion in Q1, while loan and lease outstandings came in at $109.2 billion, up 5.7% YoY. The captive was the third-largest auto lender by outstandings volume at yearend 2024, according to the latest Big Wheels Rankings data.

Clark is BMW’s new central region VP [caption id="attachment_58351905" align="alignright" width="111"] Patrick Clark[/caption] Patrick Clark will join BMW of North America as vice president of the central region from BMW Canada starting July 1.

He will lead sales, marketing, aftersales and center development in his new role, according to a BMW release.

Clark, who has been with the company for 29 years, succeeds Broderick McKinney , who will take over as vice president of used cars at BMW Group Financial Services, NA.

Veros Credit taps Ravi Gandhi as CSO [caption id="attachment_58351906" align="alignleft" width="95"] Ravi Gandhi[/caption] Veros Credit named Ravi Gandhi as its chief strategy officer on May 1, according to a company release.

Gandhi, who has more than 20 years of experience in finance and other auto sectors, will lead initiatives to increase profitability.

He previously served as CFO and co-president at United Auto Credit and head of core asset-backed securities for Financial Security Assurance .

Suzuki Marine makes Shilder its new marketing chief [caption id="attachment_58351907" align="alignright" width="264"] Susan Shilder[/caption] Suzuki Marine USA named Susan Shilder to lead its marketing team in a new position on May 8.

[caption id="attachment_58351908" align="alignleft" width="240"] Brandon Cerka and Jacob Ewing[/caption] Shilder joins the company as department manager of advertising and marketing, according to published reports. She previously worked on marketing partnerships for Suzuki Marine during a role with the National Football League ’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

Shilder will report to Brandon Cerka , who was appointed to vice president of sales and marketing on May 27. He has been with the company since 2012 and held many roles during his tenure, most recently servicing as general manager of sales and marketing.

Jacob Ewing was also promoted to vice president of operations on May 27 after multiple years with the company.

JD taps Black Book’s Yurchenko to lead valuation [caption id="attachment_58351910" align="alignright" width="133"] Alex Yurchenko[/caption] Alex Yurchenko joined J.D. Power as managing director of valuation services in March, he announced recently on LinkedIn.

Yurchenko joined the company from Black Book , where he held leadership positions for more than eight years. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of data and analytics and chief data science officer.
