With the current unemployment rate as it is and the number of Americans out of work or under employed, sooner or later the number of car or truck owner who can not make their payments is bound to increase…if fact, it probably has. This puts a burden on your collections department or you if you don’t have a collections department.
Not only is the debtor behind in his/her auto payments, but might all so have been evicted, foreclosed, or are simply hiding their whereabouts to avoid legal process service or repossession. A great deal of time and energy (which means money to you) must be spent trying to locate the car and the owner, especially if he/she has moved out of state.
True there are a bunch of “people locate” or “skip tracer” sites on the internet that can “locate anybody”. Most claim to be free but there usually a fee involved, and I have found these sites to contain old or inaccurate information. Another problem, these sites are not FCRA approved and thus might not met FDCPA requirements. What is the solution them?
Contact a licensed private investigator to do the locates, and here is why:
- Some states (Florida being one) require a license to make person or property locates, check with your state to find out the requirements.
- Most licensed PIs have access to private databases that are FCRA approved. The information is as current and accurate as possible ( they should be, we pay for them)
- Even the best databases are not enough for difficult locates. It requires good old fashion detective skills to conduct the investigation need to make a confirmed locate.
- With a wide range of PI professional organizations and contacts, it is possible to find anyone in the USA.
- Because this is what we do, we confirm the locate so you can give your attorney or repo driver an accurate address.
Naturally I would like for you to consider Missing/Located for all of your locates, but if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at http://www.missinglocated.com. ;
