JM Family Promotes Burns to EVP, CFO

Auto Finance News

World Omni Financial Corp. President Brent Burns has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of parent company JM Family Enterprises.

Meanwhile, Frank Armstrong replaces Burns at the helm of World Omni, and Dan Chait becomes second-in-command as group vice president.

Burns joined Deerfield Beach, Fla.-based JM Family in 2000; he became president of World Omni in 2001. In his 28 years in the auto finance industry, Burns has held executive positions at AutoNation Financial Services, Revenue and Fleet Management, Alamo Rent-A-Car Inc., and KPMG Peat Marwick. In his new post, Burns will oversee the financial operations for all JM Family business units.

Prior to this most recent appointment, Armstrong had been serving as senior vice president of World Omni and president of two of its subsidiaries: DataScan Technologies LLC, a provider of floorplan accounting and risk-management systems, and DataScan Field Services, a vehicle inspection company. As president of World Omni, Armstrong will assume leadership of three other subsidiaries: captive finance company Southeast Toyota Finance, third-party servicer CenterOne Financial Services LLC, and risk-decisioning technology provider Monetrics.

Chait will handle day-to-day operations for Southeast Toyota Finance’s portfolio management, dealer services, sales, and marketing. He has 18 years of experience in the financial field, including senior-level positions at US Airways Inc., AutoNation Inc., and Banc of America Leasing Commercial Markets LLC.
