GrooveCar Expands Indirect Auto Through Affinity Credit Union

Brad Bergan

Row of carsGrooveCar Inc. is expanding its indirect auto retail program into New Jersey through a partnership with Affinity Federal Credit Union, according to a company press release.

Affinity previously joined GrooveCar’s CU Xpress Lease program back in April 2015, and began offering direct auto loans following in July.

“Due to the overwhelming demand for products like this, Affinity Federal Credit Union, decided to move forward with the complete suite of services,” GrooveCar’s Senior VP Frank Rinaudo said in the release.

The credit union’s members will now have access to GrooveCar’s “concierge VIP auto buying service,” which will offer individual assistance when researching and purchasing a vehicle, as well obtaining an auto loan from Affinity. GrooveCar will also handle in-state representation for signing and maintaining dealerships for Affinity.

“After a successful deployment of GrooveCar’s direct program, and the popularity of the CU Xpress Lease program, we are excited to further partner with GrooveCar and offer our members greater loan options — making their experience with us faster, easier and more convenient,” Theresa Williams-Barrett, Affinity’s vice president of consumer lending and loan administration, said in the release.

The convenience of picking up your car, after having all details handled by a service member, is very popular and one aspect of the service that members use year-after-year, GrooveCar’s Rinaudo added.

Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Affinity currently has more than $2.3 billion in assets, and more than 136,000 members, according to the release.
