General Motors Financial Co. hired Vincent Woffenden to oversee commercial operations in Canada. Woffenden started today as vice president of Canada commercial servicing. He reports to Brian Fallon, senior vice president of the captive’s Commercial Lending Services unit.
For the past three years, Woffenden worked at Bank of Montreal, as a director and account manager of dealership finance, according to his LinkedIn profile. Previously, he spent more than a decade at Chrysler Financial, in a handful of dealer-finance positions.
GM Financial has been gearing up to launch commercial operations in Canada by spring 2013, though the captive has shied away from announcing an official start date.
The Canadian unit will offer the same product suite as does its U.S. counterpart: floorplan financing and insurance, a cash-management program, real estate and construction loans, term loans, and revolving lines of credit.
