I noticed that this month’s issue of Wired has an interesting article on alternative fuels. Basically the article suggests we totally eliminate all use of gasoline and the internal combustion engine. The suggestion is to move into a realm similar to today’s cell phone minutes. That would be to be able to buy energy (basically new technology battery power) in units to be used for a specific period of time. I’m not sure what the alternative would be to today’s fleet of vehicles but at least it sets up vehicles of the future to be totally void of gasoline. Clearly the auto industry would need to buy into this switch. What do you think of this?
My error re: socialism… I was replying to a previous post that mentioned “socialism” in the context of what is going on. We are totally in tune on the other stuff. Dangerous precedents are being set, and errors are being made. Yet, what was the alternative? Even though the execution has been flawed, I think the objective of saving the 2 companies will be accomplished. But I will continue to criticize task force and administration errors.
