Andrew Kang will join Exeter Finance Corp. as senior vice president effective July 1, leaving his post as vice president and director of capital markets at Santander Consumer USA Inc. In his new position at Exeter, Kang will oversee treasury and capital market functions, reporting to Chief Financial Officer Cliff Buster.
Blackstone-backed Exeter has hired a number of Santander executives in recent months, including Steve Zemaitis as executive vice president of strategy and planning and Lana Johnson as SVP of consumer originations.
Since 2010, Kang was responsible for the capital markets and structured finance functions ― including securitization, credit facilities, and M&A finance ― for Santander, which raised $1.8 billion in an initial public offering in January. In his four years at the company, Kang oversaw 29 securitizations worth $28.5 billion. Previously, Kang held capital markets positions at HSBC Finance Corp. and Capital One Financial Corp.
