There was no mention of auto finance in the list of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s 2017 priorities, written by Fair Lending Director Patrice Ficklin in December. However, state regulators may step up to fill the CFPB’s void, experts have warned.
Ross Hofherr, attorney at Harris Beach PLLC, will help prepare industry executives for ramped-up activity from state regulators, as a speaker at this year’s Auto Finance Risk & Compliance Summit, slated to take place May 15-16 in San Diego.
Hofherr will give a presentation entitled “Inside Collection Compliance” on Tuesday, May 15, during which he’ll discuss litigation surrounding the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Telephone Consumer Protection Act. He will also pinpoint key cases to watch in the industry.
The Auto Finance Risk & Compliance Summit is an education and networking event focused on best practices in risk management and compliance.
