AFRS webinar series presents Benoit, Edelman on Aug. 5

Amanda Harris

State and federal compliance is always top of mind for auto lenders, and during a pandemic it is more crucial than ever to stay ahead of changing state regulatory risks.

The second session of the virtual 2020 Auto Finance Risk Summit, sponsored by defi Solutions, will be led by Michael Benoit, a partner at Hudson Cook, and McGlinchey member Mark Edelman, who will discuss strategies lenders can adopt for stronger federal and state regulatory compliance.

“Regulatory Risk Roundup,” the second webinar in a three-part series, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. ET. Registration is free for the webinar.

Benoit advises banks, auto dealers, leasing companies and other creditors on a range of consumer financial services law. His expertise includes personal property financing and leasing, consumer credit and creditor-based collection practices.

Benoit’s articles have appeared in the American Bar Association’s Business Law Journal, the Mortgage Banker Magazine and others. He is also a frequent contributor for Auto  Finance News.

Edelman has more than 25 years of experience in providing regulatory compliance guidance to banks, finance companies and online lenders. His practice focuses on regulatory compliance related to personal property financing, with an emphasis on motor vehicle financing and leasing. He also serves as chairman of McGlinchey’s consumer financial services compliance practice group.

Summit participants are encouraged to engage in this important discussion as the automotive finance industry faces economic uncertainty and other challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Risk Summit concludes on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. ET when Exeter Finance Senior Vice President Meredith Garland-Hannifin shares strategies for establishing a positive relationship between the first and second lines of defense in compliance. This free webinar is sponsored by LiveVox.
