Jim Henry, the long-time auto finance industry journalist, joined Auto Finance News as Senior Editor today.
As Senior Editor, Jim will assume responsibility for our auto and powersports finance editorial endeavors, reporting to Marcie Belles, the founding editor of Auto Finance News.
To say Jim comes to us with a wealth of experience is a grand understatement. He has extensive experience as a professional journalist specifically focused on automotive finance.
Since 2010 he has written Automotive News’s F&I Newsletter on auto finance. Jim started covering the auto industry for the (late) Nashville Banner, Nashville, Tenn., in the 1980s when Saturn Corp. was announced, and the Nissan North America plant. He joined Automotive News in 1988 as their one-man New York bureau, covering European imports and Wall Street. He was the department manager, market research and corporate strategy, for Mercedes-Benz USA, Montvale, N.J., from 2003 to 2006, responsible for all U.S. market research, sales reporting and segmentation, and the corporate economist function. Since then he has been freelancing. Besides for Automotive News, he has written for, among other publications, ForbesAutos.com, BusinessWeek.com, Advertising Age, AutoWeek, and bankrate.com.
