Robert McDonald

McDonald will discuss trends in private credit, including the rise of private equity and venture capital-based originators, innovation in deal structures and terms, and how fintechs fit into the capital markets equation.

In a panel moderated by Nicole Byrns, partner at Dumar Capital Partners, he will  join fellow panelists Christopher Mitcham, head of corporate development & service for others at Santander Consumer USA, and Carlos Prevolis, managing director of consumer & small business lending at Bayview Asset Management at the event.

McDonald oversees Pagaya’s auto finance business and leads business development and strategy across consumer credit, including personal loans and point-of-sale financing. He has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, and joined Pagaya in 2020.

Previously, he founded the Morgan McDonald Group, which advises financial services and transportation companies on strategy and capital markets execution. He also spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where he led the auto and equipment structured finance business.

Pagaya’s annualized auto run rate in the fourth quarter was $2.1 billion, up from $1 billion at yearend 2024, according to the fintech’s letter to shareholders.

Auto Finance Capital Summit will provide a deep look at trends across funding, securitization and investment in the sector. Through networking opportunities, presentations and panel discussions, attendees will tap into key information to form strategies around capital stress testing, fraud mitigation, risk-based pricing and building successful treasury risk frameworks.
