Tim Russi, executive vice president of North American automotive operations at GMAC LLC, and Paul McCarthy, a senior economist at Ford Motor Credit Co., have joined the Speaker Faculty of the 2009 Auto Finance Summit.
Russi, who will join the “Executive Dialogue on the Future of Auto Finance” panel discussion, is on the senior management team at GMAC. He is a long-time auto finance executive, having previously served as president of Bank of America Dealer Finance. In 2006, he received an Auto Finance Excellence Award for his work at Bank of America.
McCarthy, who first joined Ford in 1990, will deliver the “Economic Trends in Auto Finance” address. He earned his Ph.D in economics at the University of Michigan.

Obama did say “The Flow of Credit Is the Lifeblood of Our Economy”. I could not disagree more. The lifeblood of the economy should be savings. My parents would never even thing about borrowing against the equity in their home. Excessive and irresponsible borrowing by individuals, as well as relaxed credit standards – is the root cause of our current economic woes.
