The Top Five AFN Posts of 2011

Auto Finance News

As the year comes to a close, I couldn’t help but look back on some of the informative posts my colleagues here at Auto Finance News have provided our readers. The auto industry certainly had a memorable year so why not take a look back on what got you talking the most? I’ve compiled the Top 5 posts that I feel triggered the most attention and had our members buzzing.

Let the countdown begin!

5.  The Internet: The Dealership of the Future?

Today, when people decide to buy something, they go online first. They research products and models, look at pictures, read professional and user reviews, try to find the site offering the best deal, then at some point, they click “add to cart,” check out and wait for the package to arrive at their doorstep

4. An Absence of Marketing

Working on a hunch, I conducted a very unscientific study. I counted all the commercials during last night’s episode of “Glee” to see how many were either commercials related to cars or commercials related to financial services

3.  A Manual Disconnection

Why hasn’t the buying and selling of auto loans been automated yet?

2. The Short-Term Lease Dilemma

With more than 40 new-car models available for lease for $200 or less per month, according to Edmunds.com, leasing is definitely making a comeback

And the No. 1  post of 2011 is (drum-roll please):

 1. A Hot Mess on Fair Lending for Auto Finance

When you hear the word “abusive” used so many times within the context of auto finance, it jolts you to attention

Remember: it’s not too late to jump in on the conversations!

Whether you plan to watch the ball drop in Times Square, party like a rock star or have a quiet night-in with the family, we wish you a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!
