Tim Devine, Hyundai Capital America’s senior vice president of dealer services has left the company and has been replaced by Eckart Klumpp, formerly president and chief executive of Hyundai Capital Canada, a company spokesman confirmed to Auto Finance News.

Devine was part of the Hyundai Capital America team for two separate stints: The first from 2008 to 2014 as head of the company’s sales and marketing division, and the second from January 2016 to February 2017 as senior vice president of dealer services. In between, he joined Nissan Motor Acceptance as vice president of consumer credit and customer service.

As the SVP of dealer services, Devine was the first to take on the duties of the newly formed position, which oversees the captive’s efforts to support Hyundai and Kia dealer sales including partnerships with the OEMs, product development, sales, consumer credit, and the Hyundai Protection Plan.

Klumpp brings nearly six years of experience with Hyundai to his new position. He began his tenure with the company as Hyundai Capital America’s vice president of customer service and later as vice president of Kia Motors Finance, both out of the Irvine Calif. office. Starting in January 2016, he moved to Toronto to serve as president of the Canadian division but will relocate back to California for his latest role.

George Steinsky, formerly vice president of sales and marketing for Hyundai Capital Canada, has replaced Klumpp as president and chief executive.
