CUNeXus Looks to Pair Auto Finance and Insurance in 2016

Larissa Padden

canstockphoto3574816CUneXus, a Santa Rosa, Calif.-based fintech solutions provider, is looking to bundle auto loans with insurance in 2016, according to Dave Buerger, the company’s chief executive.

The company’s existing core product, cplXpress, is a platform that allows lenders to push out preapproved auto loan offers to customers who are currently at a car dealer, using existing customer data and smartphone GPS to skip the entire  consumer application process.

“Insurance is a big focus for us this year. We have budding partnerships in the insurance space because a lot of what we have to offer is directly applicable to insurance, and not just loans,” Buerger told AFN. “If I’m a credit union and I extend an auto loan to my member, I’m also — nine times out of 10 — interested in selling them a GAP product or any number of policies or related products.”

In the past five months, CUneXus has added 20 lenders to its roster, including its largest client: Sacramento, Calif.-based Golden 1 Credit Union.
