No layoffs, benefits and unlimited time off made three auto and auto finance players among the best companies to work for in 2012, according to a ranking by Fortune magazine.
JM Family Enterprises, Navy Federal Credit Union and Capital One made the ranks this year notching the 17th, 95th and 98th spots, respectively. It’s a true comeback for Navy Federal Credit Union, who hasn’t been ranked since 2008 (ranked 78).

What makes it so great?
The country’s largest Toyota distributor offers profit-¬sharing, free haircuts, and a state-of-the-art child-care center. In the spirit of founder Jim Moran, it keeps a fleet of yachts for use by employees during appreciation events.
Proud moments: This is JM Family’s 14th consecutive year on the list, and it continues to be the highest-ranked company headquartered in Florida.

Employees of the world’s largest credit union cite no layoffs in its 79-year history and benefits equal to or better than those offered by commercial banks.

Navy Federal Credit Union is the world’s largest credit union with more than 3.8 million members, 220 branch offices, $47 billion in assets, and more than 8,500 employees worldwide.

Proud moments: 2010 revenue: $16.1 million. A top 10 US bank, offering a broad spectrum of financial products and services to consumers, small businesses, and commercial clients. Capital One has approximately 1000 branch locations in New York, New Jersey, Louisiana, Texas, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
