A Pennsylvania resident pleaded guilty to bank fraud on Tuesday, the Department of Justice announced this week.
Rene Roy, age 51, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., admitted to submitting falsified documents to Belco Community Credit Union in order to obtain a lower interest rate on an auto loan. Details on which documents Roy falsified were not specified in court documents filed with the U.S. District Court Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Roy first appeared in court Jan. 21, and entered a guilty plea. He has since been released and awaits sentencing. He faces up to 30 years in prison, supervised release and an undisclosed fine.
Harrisburg, Pa.-based Belco Community Credit Union was not available for comment at press time.
