Auto credit availability continues to tighten in January

Auto credit availability tightened for the third straight month in January as yield spreads widened and subprime shares fell, marking the tightest credit conditions since June 2021.  The Dealertrack Credit Availability Index, which tracks all types of auto loans, declined 1% month over month in January to 98, according to Cox Automotive.
