CarFinance.com Brings Military Lending Program Online

Mini toy soldier on black backgroundFlagship Credit Acceptance’s Military Lending Program was recently added to CarFinance.com’s website, in an effort to expand visibility to the growing program, according to a company press release.

The porting of Flagship’s online program to CarFinance’s site comes as another step of integration between CarFinance and parent company Flagship, according to Flagship’s Chief of Operations Dave Bertoncini. Flagship and CarFinance merged in January 2015.

Members of the military can now apply for auto loans through the special program on CarFinance’s site, in addition to Flagship’s. The Military Lending Program offers an expansive dealership network, dedicated service teams, and loan terms personalized to adequately satisfy service members’ needs, Bertoncini said.

“We have a unique pricing and policy for the servicemember,” he said. “On the loan-servicing side, we have some concessions we make, like repossession and such. There are government regulations regarding, which we respect — we want to go beyond respecting. You have to look at it as a slightly different population.”

The program has financed more than $185 million in auto loans since it was first launched by Flagship Credit Acceptance in 2012, according to the release.

Bringing the military program online was part of CarFinance’s broader rebranding and expansion beyond nonprime loans, which includes the new tagline “Drive Away Happy.”

The website was also upgraded, both to improve the credit application process and enhance mobile usability. “While our brand and logo are how our customers recognize us, what sets us apart from other online lenders is the power and usability of the programs and tools we offer our customers,” John Koehler, vice president of product development, said in the release.

Lopez also forecasted a slew of new products and tools on the horizon, “to continue to improve user experience and deliver on our brand promise for all our customers, partners, and dealers,” he said.
