Ally Financial will soon offer its auto finance customers free access to their credit scores. The company announced today that it will give this access to Fico scores via its Ally Auto Online Services and Ally Auto Mobile Pay App. Customers with an online profile will have automatic access to the free Fico monitoring. The announcement was made at a BuySecure event at the Federal Trade Commission earlier today. The BuySecure event is a part of a White House Initiative to stop identity theft.
In addition to the free Fico score monitoring, Ally is also offering its customers free online financial education through its Wallet Wise Program. Ally’s special offer will launch in February for a limited number of customers to test the program. The full launch for the free Fico monitoring will start in the summer of 2015.
Ally has been growing its base of auto finance customers. during the third quarter of 2014, Ally’s auto originations rose 23% to $11.8 billion, up from $9.6 billion in the third quarter of 2013.
