It appears that one man (Barney Frank) was able to stop that oversight.
How did the various state usury laws work once Citibank paid off the South Dakota legislature (with the promise of a few jobs - shame on them) to drop usury on credit cards? Is the public better off?
The primary banks that should worry are the ones that led us into this mess in the first place. If any bank is really doing something in the best interest of the customer and the country - what do they have to worry about?
