Indiana Treasurer Disputes Chrysler-Fiat Deal

A federal appeals court is slated to hear arguments this afternoon in a bid by Indiana Treasurer Richard Mourdock to halt the Chrysler-Fiat merger. Mourdock contends that TARP funds were used illegally to provide funds to automakers, and that secured bondholders are being treated unfairly. At stake are $20 million in Chrysler bonds owned by three public investment funds that are at risk to lose $8 million. The Chrysler sale has a June 15 deadline.
