Planning a trip to Indonesia? You might check out the web site for the country’s tourism board… or auto lender Adira Dinamika Multi Finance.

Adira, one of Indonesia’s largest auto finance companies, launched a tourism-related site called Adira Faces of Indonesia.

The site will run the Best 100 Faces of Indonesia Writing and Photo Contest, a competition focusing on Indonesian places of interest. The contest is open to the public from July through December, and 100 winners will receive prizes worth 2 million Indonesian rupiahs ($235). Those winners will also be entered into the next stage of competition, which has not yet been disclosed.

The competition launched over the weekend, and so far, 185 people “like” Adira Faces of Indonesia on Facebook.

Might other lenders take a lesson from Adira? A tourism-related contest ― or a photography competition, or any other similar promo ― could be a big draw, especially for credit unions and direct lenders. Look at how much buzz the “Chase Community Giving" and "Kohl's Cares" contests created last year ― 2.9 million “likes” for Chase, and 5.5 million for Kohl’s.
