In the wake of recalling more than eight million vehicles worldwide, Toyota Motor Corp. is offering 0% financing in China. The no-interest program is different than it is in the U.S., though, since Chinese consumers usually pay half the vehicle price upfront, and the remainder a year later. The 0% offer will apply to the second lump-sum payment.

Another program designed for Toyota buyers in China: The carmaker is offering a year’s worth of car insurance and two years of 24-hour roadside assistance.

For consumers who test drive vehicles, Toyota is giving away gas cards worth 88 yuan ($13).
