The Conference of State Bank Supervisors and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau have inked an MOU to coordinate supervision of banks and other lenders.

Specifically, the MOU calls for state regulators and the CFPB to promote consistent exam procedures and effective enforcement of state and federal consumer laws.

Separately, Holly Petraeus may be tapped later this week as the CFPB’s head of consumer protection for military families. Petraeus, whose husband leads U.S. military operations in Afghanistan, currently heads the Better Business Bureau’s Military Line.
